[Asami can't tell if he's trying to be funny or if he really doesn't know how to handle these kinds of situations, but she does know that he's trying. The worst part is that she isn't in the mood for it right now. She can feel the frustration build up in her chest and shoulders, and she isn't necessarily fed up with him as she is disappointed with the circumstances around her, that there is no right thing to hear.
She decides, after a couple more seconds of crying silently into his shoulder, and not using it as a handkerchief, that she's inconsolable.
After willing herself to suck up her tears for the moment, Asami separates herself from Bolin. Her face is flush, makeup smudged.]
