[Bolin's not in his apartment when the bombing's start. He'd been out stretching his leg by taking a short walk. Now he's running, stumbling back to the building. PABU! PABU, I'M COMING BUDDY!
It takes him a moment to realize his device is going off, and another moment for him to fumble it open. He'd been hoping to see Asami's face, but Kaede's voice is almost as reassuring.]
[ Oh thank goodness, there he is! She moves out of her apartment as he responds, running up the stairs towards his apartment. She makes sure her headphones stay plugged in so she responds via the in-line microphone. ]
I'm still in the building, I'll get him! Do you need your crutches too or something??
I'm two floors away from your room! Do you know if any of your roommates are still in the apartment, too? [ She's trying not to breathe too hard into the microphone, but dear Lord these stairs... ]
[The door quickly swings open -- Pabu's been waiting by it for Bolin -- and the little fire ferret leaps out of the room and straight onto Kaede's shoulder. Sorry, Bolin -- any port in a storm. He chitters fearfully.]
[ Kaede sighs in relief, petting Pabu comfortingly. She quickly checks to see if any of the other roomates are in before closing the door to go to the next floor. ]
We'll go to Bolin after we check on Asami for him, okay? [ And there will be a knock on the door of room 1001. A minute or so passes, so she presses an ear to the door, but after another minute or two, she sighs and heads to the stairs. ]
Bolin, there's no answer, and I don't hear anyone inside. She might have left already.
[What if Kaede doesn't hear anything because Asami's DEAD?! No, no way. Asami is a badass. She wouldn't -- she's fine. She's fine because she has to be fine and Bolin is going to send her a message right now.
In his panic, he forgets to actually respond to Kaede. Oops. Sorry.]
[ She returns the grin, glad that Bolin & Pabu have been reunited. She will patiently wait as he contacts Asami, checking her own inbox for any messages. ]
